by Timothy Batista

When Mazda has launched its first crossover SUV model CX-30, it could secure its place in the first row of its segment in no time. Now that this model is celebrating its second anniversary, Mazda took the initiative to uplift the status of the model to the next high, with all the necessary modifications done to the trims of the 2021 model year lineup.

At the showroom premise of the Moreno Valley Mazda dealership, we came to know that the 2021 Mazda CX-30 models have many things in common with the Mazda 3 sedan and hatchback models. Right from the styling cues to the powertrain configurations, all are more or less the same except the slightly uplifted suspension that helped the 2021 Mazda CX-30 models to make its mark in the race of performance where it has shown its class-exclusive abilities.

Leadership Qualities

The 2021 model year edition of Mazda CX-30 has imbibed many exemplary virtues to inspire its own segment of crossover SUVs. One such exemplary element it can boast of is the wide range of powertrains. Starting at the base with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine it goes higher and higher with more road handling capabilities and off-roading prowess. To cater to a broader spectrum of buyers, Mazda offers both the options to drive the 2021 CX-30 models with front- wheels and with all four wheels which is yet another class exclusive quality it beholds.

So, one can order for a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine to work under the hood of his 2021 Mazda CX-30 model which will automatically come configured as all-wheel drive following the standard rule. It provides the 2021 Mazda CX-30 with 250 hp which is more than sufficient to handle any SUV like driving act.

For the year 2021, Mazda has now prepared its flagship model CX-30 with all the desirable functionalities that display the magic of latest technological advancements. Right from the infotainment system to the safety measure, the 2021 Mazda CX-30 models have it all.

The 2021 CX-30 model lineup series from Mazda has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine at the base trim which is capable of granting 186 horsepower when a six-speed automatic transmission is interlocked with it.  There is an optional 2.5-liter turbocharged engine available in the lineup that provides the 2021 Mazda CX-30 a decent 250 horsepower and is configured as all-wheel-drive by default.

Impressive Mileage

Though not class leading, but the fuel economy rates scored by the 2021 Mazda CX-30 models are quite impressive, said a recent buyer of this model whom we met at the Mazda dealer Moreno Valley showroom complex.

He confirmed that when driven with the FWD configuration, the 2021 Mazda CX-30 models return 25 mpg of mileage in the city, 33 mpg on the highways, and 28 mpg from a combined trip as rated by the EPA. So, when we asked about the scores it can score when the model will be an AWD one, they furnished us with the EPA figures that read 24 mpg when driven in the city roads, 31 mpg on highway speed, and 26 mpg when a trip combines both.
